Mold Remediation in North Texas
A musty smell in a closet. A shadow on the ceiling that keeps coming back no matter how many times it gets painted over. By the time mold is visible, the moisture problem behind it is already established. Warrior Restoration LLC finds the source, contains the growth, remediates it properly, and dries the structure so it stays gone -- IICRC AMRT certified, $2 million insured, one crew from the leak to the last wipe-down.
The Part Most Companies Skip
Mold Is a Symptom. Moisture Is the Disease.
Clean the visible growth off a wall and it looks solved -- for a while. If the leak, condensation, or drying failure that fed it is still active, the mold returns, and you have paid to clean the same spot twice. A remediation that lasts starts with finding and fixing what is feeding the growth, not just what is growing.
This is where Warrior's background sets us apart from a mold-only outfit. Our crew holds IICRC WRT and ASD certification for structural drying, alongside AMRT for microbial remediation. We use calibrated moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras to find water hiding inside walls and under flooring -- the moisture a visual check alone would miss -- before we ever touch the containment barrier.
How We Work
How Mold Remediation Works
Our IICRC AMRT-certified crew follows the same sequence on every job -- containment first, moisture source last is never the plan.
Containment & Negative Air
Poly barriers and zipper doors seal the work area before anything is disturbed, and negative-air machines keep spores from migrating to clean parts of the home.
Removal of Unsalvageable Materials
Affected drywall, insulation, or flooring is removed under HEPA-filtered air by a crew in full PPE, then bagged and disposed of to remediation standards.
HEPA Cleaning & Antimicrobial Treatment
Remaining surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and treated with EPA-registered antimicrobial to address growth too small to see.
Drying & Source Repair
Industrial air movers and dehumidifiers dry the structure while we correct the leak or condensation feeding the growth -- the step that keeps it from coming back.
Straight Talk
Black Mold, Honestly
"Black mold" gets thrown around as a catch-all scare term. Here is the straight version: color alone does not tell you how serious a growth is -- what matters is how much material is affected and whether the moisture behind it is still active. A small, contained patch on a hard surface is a different job than growth spreading through drywall after weeks of an undetected leak.
We do not lead with fear. We lead with what we can verify: mold damages the materials it grows on, it spreads faster the longer moisture sits, and disturbing it without containment is how a contained problem becomes a whole-room problem. Our crew is IICRC AMRT certified and equipped for black mold and other microbial growth -- full PPE, sealed containment, HEPA-filtered removal -- regardless of which species is on the wall. Species matters less than getting the moisture under control.
Texas Mold Rules, Plain English
Why We Don't Test Our Own Work
Texas separates mold assessment from mold remediation on purpose. For larger jobs, an independent, licensed assessor inspects the property, writes the remediation protocol, and later performs the clearance testing that confirms the work is done. Warrior Restoration is not that assessor -- we do not hold a TDLR mold assessor license, and we never offer mold inspection or mold testing as one of our services.
That separation is not a limitation, it is the point: the company that finds the mold should not be the same one grading its own cleanup. When your job calls for a licensed assessment, we work alongside that independent assessor rather than around them.
For a small, contained area -- under 25 contiguous square feet -- Texas rules do not require that licensed assessment process at all, so homeowners can bring a remediation crew in directly. Either way, our lane stays the same: containment, removal, cleaning, drying, and fixing the moisture source.

The 72-Hour Chapter
Mold Is What Happens After Water Damage Goes Unaddressed
Most mold calls we get trace back to a water event that was not dried fast enough or not dried completely -- a slow roof leak, a burst pipe behind a wall, a bathroom that never fully dried after a flood. Mold can take hold within about 72 hours of standing moisture, which is why the response window on the front end matters as much as the remediation on the back end.
That is also why one crew handling both jobs matters. If you are dealing with an active leak or flooding right now, our water damage restoration team responds within 1 hour to extract water and start structural drying before mold has a chance to establish. And if standing water has already been sitting, our water mitigation process is built to dry a structure completely -- not just visibly -- so remediation never becomes necessary in the first place.
